Client: Drop Leg Steppers
Original objective: To create a new logo that reflects the band’s evolving direction while ensuring versatility for multiple outputs, from digital streams to physical merchandise.
When Drop Leg Steppers underwent a line-up change in 2021, they approached me to design a fresh logo that would mark their new chapter. Their previous logo, though detailed and distinctive, was no longer suited to their growing needs. The challenge was clear: simplify the design while retaining the band’s unique identity and ensuring it worked seamlessly across various formats.
Inspiration struck close to home - literally, I used my daughter’s foot as a pencil guide to sketch the new logo. This playful yet practical approach helped streamline the design into a clean, adaptable mark that captured the band’s essence. The result? A versatile logo that resonated with the band and required no revisions after the first round!
Over time we have expanded the visual language to support the band’s diverse creative needs. Including logo adaptions, CD artwork and digital stream visuals to eye-catching posters and promotional materials, each piece builds on the cohesive identity we established.
Below is a selection of the work we’ve created together—a testament to how thoughtful design can grow alongside a band’s journey. This project highlights the importance of adaptability and creativity in branding. By blending personal inspiration with professional expertise, we crafted a visual identity that not only met the band’s practical needs but also amplified their artistic voice. Together, we turned a simple logo into a lasting symbol of Drop Leg Steppers’ evolution.
